Apartments

Me and three other friends are going to be getting an apartment this summer and we're wondering how much is the average cost to rent one. We are looking for a 2 bedroom 2 bath/1bath also ok. I'm attending UCSD and they will be attending San Diego Miramar College. Is there a specific location where we can get cheap rent?
Our budget is $1200.

It's about $1800-$2200 from what I've seen. Average is ~$1950 for those on the shuttle line for sd.

Most UCSD students live in the 'UTC area' which includes the areas around Regents and Nobel, down Villa La Jolla Drive, etc. That area's served by the UCSD shuttle and also the city bus. Prices for a 2br I think will be higher than your target budget - probably roughly $1700 up with some outliers.

You could also live in the Mira Mesa and Clairmont Mesa areas which would be cheaper and aren't too far away but aren't served by the shuttle. Pacific Beach might have some less expensive apartments as well. Check out craigslist and do some googling to get a good idea.

omg seriously, takai desu ne.
that's ridiculously expensive, lol.
We aren't going to be using the shuttle, so we're willing to live far from campus(8-15miles).

hahaha..hontoni "takai desu ne"no desukato iu. anata? thats just awesome...

sometimes you can find cheaper housing for just the summer, because people want to keep hold of their apts and stuff and not eat the bill if they leave..so you might be able to find something on uloop or w/e for cheaper for the summer..but once you get to august youll need to find a place for the year it is more expensive.

Just use San Diego Craigslist, you'll be able to find some apartments around 1200 for sure. There are various areas like Linda Vista, Clairemont and Mira Mesa that are pretty cheap, and if you're willing to go a little further you can find cheaper ones in Northpark I think.

I mean just mapquest a map of San Diego and look up these areas, and craigslist apartment listings usually have a map of the location anyways.
