<p>"We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected to advance to the next round of the 2008-2009 Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) selection process."</p>
<p>pretty excited I guess.</p>
<p>Does anyone know how many people qualify to the next round and how many receive scholarships?</p>
<p>hey I got it too, it sounds a lot like the Gates email I got. This one is 2000 dollars and I think about 400 people are finalists, don't know how many people win though</p>

<p>I haven't received an email, but I wasn't sure if the "awaiting finalist selection" was referring to my application or just stating that APIASF is in the process of notifying finalists?</p>
<p>Also, reviewed...twice? Is that normal?</p>
<p>(APIASF lost my recommendation and it took about 3 wks to get that straightened out!)</p>

<p>I got that too but I don't know if that mean you're guarantee an email. I think they use the same terminology as the gates scholarship and finalist means you receive an email. If it's awaiting finalist selection, you could or could not receive an email. However, it's way too early to lose hope. Good luck everyone</p>

<p>just a correction, the amount is 2500 dollars. Btw, did anyone get this and the gates millenium too? I faxed in my gates stuff this morning and I noticed they both use the same fax numbers. So, I emailed them to see if I need to refax the stuff for this scholarship. Still haven't heard back</p>
<p>I'm a finalist for GMS, but I haven't heard from APIASF. I thought I read on the APIASF website that you can't win two APIASF scholarships. If someone does, that person is awarded the scholarship of greater value. However, I'm not sure if GMS counts under this rule since as far as I know, the GMS scholarship is only administered by APIASF for Asian applicants. I wouldn't think of it as a APIASF scholarship, only one affiliated with APIASF. I could be wrong, but that's how I took it.</p>

<p>I am a Gates and a APIASF finalist...I haven't gotten a chance to fax or mail any of my stuff. I been on spring break, and just received my Gates stuff on Thursday. I am faxing on Tuesday, when I get back from Spring break. I'm so anxious since everyone practically mail and fax it already...</p>
