Don't bother retaking the SATs. Your math score is just as likely to go down as up, and CR+M of 1520 is very, very good.

You don't try to fit all your ECs and awards on the app. Instead, you put your ECs, in detail and arranged in an easy to read table, on a paper supplement that you mail to admissions. To see how, pick up The Truth About Getting In and/or Rock Hard Apps by Katherine Cohen. Both books will give you good idea of how to arrange and present your ECs and accomplishments and also give you a good idea of what schools like Stanford are looking for in applicants.

Your chances...Well, it's a bit tough to estimate. You're about an average applicant at Stanford and Princeton, and average applicants have about a 10% chance at both schools. You're an above average applicant at Duke and WashU and above average applicants have about a 30 to 40% chance at both. But, your hook (so to speak) is that you're from Iowa, and I expect applicants from Iowa, especially applicants with appropriate stats, are relatively rare at all four schools, and are especially rare at Stanford, Princeton, and Duke, and these schools do want a good geographic mix. So, given the Iowa thing, I think you actually have a better than average chance at all four schools. My guess is that you'll get into at least two.

UCLA and Pepperdine should be no problem. I'd be surprised if you weren't accepted at both.

thanks! no one is really giving me advice on how to fill these things out and i wish i had someone who could help me...its tough because i want to do it right and i only have one chance!

Princeton requires 3 SAT II's. Usually this means from 3 different areas, so only one of the Math 1 & 2 scores would count towards the three required.

I took physics last year and got a 700 so i really wouldnt want to include that...maybe ill take them again in december and take the spanish one as well

Sounds good, just didn't want to see your application placed in the round file because you were one test short of their requirement. Good luck!

spartan -

Small point here. When you ask the College Board to send your SAT and SAT2 scores to a college, they send the scores for all the tests you took. The college may count only the top scoring SAT2s, and the top scoring sections of the SATs, but the admissions office will see everthing.

Yep yep i read that on the website...i meant i didnt want it to be included as one of the top 3...I'm not really afraid of them seeing it because its not terrible, it just not competitive.
