<p>On Part I of the Columbia app, a question asks if you have ever conferred with any Columbia representative about the admissions process and if so, whom. I attended an information session with a Columbia admissions officer at my school. Does that count? I have no idea what her name is though and I can't find it online. Should I just leave that part blank or write "no"?</p>

<p>It might be a good idea to arrange a meeting with a professor in a subject you're especially interested in. If the professor's child went to Columbia, that's even better. You'll show interest in the school.</p>
