App Status: Deferred

After an initial evaluation, your application has been referred for second review. A final decision will be made by the end of March. You will receive further information by mail.

I am a very sad man now. What does that mean and what can I do ? :(

Retake the ACT and SAT as many times as you can, and maintain your grades. They will most likely ask for 1st semester final grades, to compare you with other students. Good luck!

I already taken ACT three times thrice

what’s your stats?

I would try taking the sats I found them much easier than the acts and got a much better score. Have faith in yourself!!

3.69 Weighted 27 ACT

My son’s pref was engg and got deferred. GPA same as OP, but ACT 32. What major did OP try? At least they have not suggested an alternate campus so OP and my son have some hope. Good luck.

My first language is not English, which brought my ACT down. I applied for Computer Engineering and Science

I was deferred as well today and am very upset about this. However, I’ve been looking at the positive side and thinking that deferred and denial are two separate cases. We still have hope of getting into main campus! I got 29 on ACT and have a 3.65 unweighted GPA. Anyone think I have good chances of getting accepted for good?? My resume is full of extra-curriculars, awards, and community service. I was shocked that I got deferred.

That is weird…I got in with a 3.7 and a 29 – not too far off from your stats. Just keep up your grades and maybe try for a better ACT. Good luck!
