Is it better to apply SCEA w/out an arts supplement, or Dec 1st WITH an arts supplement in the RD round?

Depends on what you think the impact of your arts supplement will be. If you think it would boost your chances of admission, then I’d go regular w/ supplement.

I think it will.

So, to put it this way: a fantastic arts supplement will boost my chances more than applying SCEA would, correct?

applying early isn’t going to boost your chances.

a strong application is better than an early one at Stanford

If you think you can get in without the supplement, then by all means apply early. If you have doubts about other things and thing your supplement will boost your chances greatly (as you say), then I’d go regular.

Applying EA usually puts you up against extremely well qualified applicants. Though the acceptance rate is around 16% for EA, you have to realize that qualified applicants who have Stanford as their first choice are applying EA.
