I took the December 2007 ACTs. I just checked my scores online, and my writing score was an 8. I really don't believe this was the score I deserved; my essay was, IMO, excellent. Can I appeal this score once its official?

You mean SAT?

No. ACT Writing. 8 of 12.

My December scores aren't up yet. :(

i highly doubt it.. but you can try calling them and asking?

It's so infuriating. I really think I deserved higher than an 8. There aren't even any negative comments on the page to justify the score, only "Your essay accurately answered the proposal" or whatever. But I will try calling them once the holiday is over. The only thing is, then I'll have to resend all my scores. But I don't really care. I'm going into journalism. I'm applying to Northwestern. This score could feasibly make or break me, you know?

I scored a 9 the first time I took it
then I got an 11
and I finally got a 12

What was the differenc?
LENGTH -
also you need to make sure you address different aspects of the issue.

remember that they merely give a cursory overview of your essay, so make sure you cater to the readers.

**Another note
hard to read handwriting forces the reader to linger on your essay longer...just make sure its not tooo bad..if the writing is good they will notice when forced to slow down ;P..I think
