Appeal F.A. / Michigan

I was in college back in 2010 until 2011. I had been admitted into the hospital therefore missing classes, being dropped and losing my FA. I was unaware of this until I went to go get my books for the next semester and was told I didn't have the money on my card. When I went to the FA office they had explained to me what happened, and that I needed to appeal it. I was completely fine with that. The problem is, its now been 2 years and I can still appeal it but I cannot for the life of me remember why I had to drop classes prior to being in the hospital. Does anyone have any insight on how to go about this???

It seems to me that a simple statement to the effect that: “I was enrolled in classes at Stuffy University in the fall of 2010 and had to drop out because I was gravely ill. I was admitted to Sickly Persons Hospital on mm/dd/yyyy and remained there for X days. Because I was unable to attend to any of my academic matters at this time, blah, blah, blah.” There is no need to go into great specifics about the medical issues as there is some confidentiality involved here.
