my friend got rejected from UCs so shes writing an appeal letter to the admission. Has anyone ever been through the situation where u got ur admission denied but later got accepted through the letter of appeal? if so, can u also post ur stats. Thanks

^what were her stats and what uc's did she apply to?

The only time that an appeal is going to work is if your appeal has some information that was not taken into account earlier.

Her stats:

International from Thailand
SAT: 1500ish/2400
SAT II: 580 bio, 620 mathIIC
UC GPA: 3.4
TOEFL: 580 paper-based
full IB Diploma (34 predicted)

UCs she applied to:
Davis
Santa Cruz
LA
Santa Barbara

Her SAT, SAT II and GPA are on the low side for any of the UC's.

Rejected from Davis, pretty low STATS. should i try appealing?
Accepted to UCSC, UCM, UCR & waiting for UCI though

SAT l-1370
SAT ll- 610math llc 530 Us hisotry
ACT- 19 comp.
lots of EC

Yes, it's possible. UCLA's (which is probably the hardest to win through appeal) appeal success rate is 5%, according to an assistant director at the admissions office.

whats the appeal rate for UCSD if you guys know?

The point is, it's very low and the number of spaces for appeal students depend on how many students send in their intent to enroll relative to the target class size.

appeal rate for ucsd is 8%

thanks for the site, dreamingofdreams. really helpful :)

anyone know the appeal rate at ucsb? i was accepted at davis, but not ucsb which is my first choice!!!

any advice?
