I never heard back officially from my appeal. I did get admitted though :)

(i filed an appeal before i found out whether i got in or not…)

Some of my friends heard back about 3-4 weeks after they sent in their appeal.

Does anyone know someone who got a successful appeal even though they got rejected instead of being waitlisted at the first place? Also, does the admission office look at the waitlisted applicants first or the appeal applicants?

Yes. My friend was rejected and then appealed successfully. I am also about to read your paper. Sorry for the delay!

It’s okay. Take your time, and thank you in advance!

i caan help if you need any help :)

@speedsolver do you happen to know what your friend’s successful appeal consisted of/what his or her personal circumstances were? I just sent in an appeal about two weeks ago and I am anxiously awaiting my result. Any help is appreciated

He talked about his grandma’s death (whom he was very, very close to) which resulted in depression and his grades dipped sophomore/junior years. He also talked more about his activities and how her death affected his career choice and how he spends his time (extra currics).

Good luck!

I got mine back in less than 2 weeks. They rejected it. But yeah. 2 weeks was my time.

I filed an appeal last Thursday, 4/19, and got their rejection today, 4/27. They stated that I am still on the waitlist however, but either way that’s 2/3 strikes so far…

Hate to say I told you so…

Ugh…
So for me, I sent in my appeal packet relatively early, around apr.1st, with a letter of rec.
But they never got it, i supposed lost by the post office= = and I didn’t find out about that till mid April when I called in. I had to send in another one.
But today I just got a confirmation email from them in the morning saying they received it -.- I already SIRed to another school but I really wanna go to UW.
Is anybody else out there still waiting like me?
Btw, I’m rejected, not waitlisted. My reason for appealing is major depression I went through my entire high school life caused by family issues and a lot of other factors. I’m recently diagnosed. Hopefully they can understand my situation and see how it has an impact on my academic performance. Not sure if I have a chance.

My appeal got rejected.

Hey nr, I’m in a similar position.

I was stupid and didn’t think to appeal until the very end of Apr. They confirmed receiving it pretty quickly, but I’ve already submitted my $200 deposit to UF. It’s okay for me as going to UW would be worth forgoing my UF deposit. Only thing is I’m not sure whether they can offer me enough financial aid. UF, which is somewhat comparable, gave me $25k in merit aid, so it will be a tough deal to pass up as much as I love UW.
