I’m not the best writer, so please be as honest and hard to my essay. This letter is to my dream school and I really want to make a strong impression that will change their minds on their decision.
Dear College,
I am writing to appeal your decision on my admittance to your school. I knew my GPA and standardized test scores were below the average of your admitted students but I wanted to take the leap. I truly believe that my numbers do not represent my true ability.
Please understand that my low scores do not represent who I am as a person or a student. I didn’t realize that my GPA and test scores had a significant impact on how people viewed me however, I do not regret anything I’ve done thus far. I chose to pursue advancement in my extracurriculars and hobbies: associative student body, music, media, and various STEM programs. I allocated time that could have been used to study to my other activities. Since my initial submission of my application, I’ve received many honors and awards: most endured in marching band, most talented in ASB, hosted my own art show featuring my photography and graphics, won honorable mention in the American Advertising Federation’s National Student Advertising Competition with a video showing the power of water conservation, won 2nd place in the L.A. county fair for my works of digital art, and moving on to state in the Science Olympiad competition. I hope you will look towards my hours spent advancing in my other interests to be worth changing your decision.
