SO based on talking to different people and reading various posts on here, I noticed many people are decided to appeal their admissions decisions. I know for me it was difficult to start the process, so I thought it would be nice to start a discussion about the appeal process for ourselves and future applicants.

We can share stories/ask for advice/overall/share tips/ just support each other! I will elaborate on my own tips in the comments if people are interested.

I personally encourage anyone who was waitlisted or rejected to appeal, I know MANY MANY success stories both on this website and in real life. :)

AND PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY DISCOURAGING MESSAGES! It was really hard for me to go through this process and then people telling me I was wasting my time just made everything so much worse.

I would like to say that anything really is possible. I am a freshman applicant for 2014 and was waitlisted. I took the chance and appealed to get off of the waitlist. Two weeks later, I received a letter in the mail saying my petition was approved.

Don’t ever be discouraged and always go for the small chances you have. Keep in mind that you will be okay no matter where you go. I wish the best of luck to all those who has or is deciding to appeal, and I encourage those who are thinking about appealing.

You might have a shot. Not everyone who got got in will accept UW’s offer. I know many people who decided to go somewhere else. There is always a hope. Go ahead and proceed with your appeal process. I also know few successful stories. It s worth it. Good Luck

SO I WAS OFFICALLY ACCEPTED FROM A REJECTION! I will be putting together a walkthrough type thing this week for other students in the future (OR EVEN NOW ITS NOT TOO LATE TO APPEAL GUYS DO IT IF YOU WANT) that want to do the same thing. It was hard not having any support and having so many negative comments thrown my way. But I got what I wanted so I am the real winner :)

@CantQuit Congrats! This is actually really inspirational. Do you mind me asking what your GPA was and what you were going to major in? I’m a autumn transfer 2014 student and I’m still waiting on my letter.

My daughter was rejected and appealed and was accepted! We worked really hard in the letter and a whole package of info from the school and teachers! We read every type of appeal student instructions and made sure to use all the questions and guidance in all of them to write the letter. Good luck!
