Appeal Process, any tips.

<p>Ok, well UCSB was my choice. I was rejected today. I cant say I should have been accepted, but I would atleast try to appeal.</p>

<p>I would like to know if anyone has done this and if there are any tips.</p>

<p>I got accepted into UCD but I don't really want to go there. UCSB is a perfect fit for me, I love the campus and its proximity to home / LA and all that good stuff. My stats are this:</p>

<p>4.0 UC GPA - 8 APS / 5 honors - 1940 SAT - 30 ACT</p>

<p>250+ Hours volunteering. Track and Field. Bowling Team. Speech Debate / Yearbook.</p>

<p>I applied to Film Studies and was rejected, I really want to study film.</p>

<p>I won't lie. I'm bummed. It felt like getting whacked by a baseball bat. I'm still in shock, but I figure i better start my appeal proces. However I'd hope that I can get it in really quick so I wont have to wait post- May 1st for a response, as I might have to take up the offer at UCD given it is the only other school I have been accepted into.</p>

<p>Does UCSB do interviews, anything like that? Thanks a bunch.</p>

<p>Don't give them any infomation you already presented on your application. To appeal you must be able to present new information not already presented on your original application.</p>

<p>How absolute is that rule, collegemom? I imagine theres a bunch of people who appeal without any new information, but rather they just feel their application was overlooked</p>

<p>Let's just say that the appeal rate is under 10%, so you'd better have a good reason to overturn your rejection, like a state/national award. High senior year grades do not count.</p>
