Appeal Process

Anyone want to help me appeal my waitlist decision? I know the odds are extremely slim, but UW is my dream school and I figure, why not?

A little background:

My gpa is a 3.4 overall, but sophomore year I had a 3.1 and Junior year I had a 4.20, so an increase of over 1 point. I had some friend drama, family problems, and played a sport(basketball) sophomore year and I had the hardest teacher at the school for chemistry, (which I got a C in) and while those all contributed, UW doesn't want to hear about how it is other peoples fault, so I can't really say any of that.

Also, after two consecutive scores of 1760 and 1780 on the SAT, i got a 1920 my 3rd time, a pretty big increase.

Four years of volunteering for the Miracle League of San Diego, which is very respected.

I don't have any life-changing experiences that were not able to be seen on my application, so I don't really have much to go on other than I increased my GPA drastically and showed a huge upward trend while taking very hard classes (8 AP courses in the last 2 years). So, what should i say

The deal breaker was probably your GPA. Is the 3.4 weighted or unweighted? Since your grades have gone up on an upward trend, that is something you should focus on in your appeal.

Have you matured since sophomore year? Learned how to juggle time better? Did you learn something from what happened with chemistry to do better in junior and senior years?

Emphasize on those in your appeal.

3.4 unweighted, 3.7 weighted. Thanks man, I will mention those things!

My appeal got rejected, no surprise. I spend a lot of time on it, a LOT. Hopefully it helps somewhat in their decision whether to admit me off the Waitlist or not. The long process begins now.
