I wrote earlier this week that I was worried that by asking for more $$ I was jeopardizing the generous aid we already got -- and I'm happy to say -- that we received an extra 3K per year on the basis of the letter that I sent.

I'm so excited. My daughter was already going to attend the school - it just would have been a tougher stretch for all of us ... This is such a nice gift -- I can hardly contain myself.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Rachel

rachelfran, if possible, can you please share what you wrote? I’m in the process of appealing myself.

That’s great. Gives hope to a lot of us struggling to put together finances.

My letter was very personal… discussing the applicants sibling (diagnosed w/autism) and the applicants need to transfer high schools midway due to personal reasons and how that affected her grades … all aid is need based.

It’s weird because I had a premonition this morning that the letter would come and that it would be 3K. I emailed the fin. aid office on Monday and she told me it was in the mail so I knew it would come today or tomorrow – and the school goes by quarters instead of semesters so the aid has been listed in three columns so in my mind I saw three $1000’s and that’s exactly what we got! LOL
