<p>In your opinion, if I’m going to appeal based on a personal situation, would teacher/counselor recs actually help me? Assuming they don’t know my situation, and I’m not willing to share it with them. Will the general rec of “person was a good student” help me? I know, it “wouldn’t hurt” but I’m not that close to any of my teachers.</p>
<p>I wouldn't risk a general recommendation. If you're going to appeal, you need to make it count. The chances of reversal are not high, and teachers are generally willing to listen and help you regarding your situation, even if you're not close to them.</p>
