I just wanted to make a quick post to say that if you're accepted to and considering Drexel but are held back by financial aid (since it is quite a pricey school!), APPEAL THEM.

I did, and it worked for me. Now I'm actually able to attend.

I’m currently in the process of appealing too. I’m thinking of submitting it this friday. However, I don’t know if it would help or hurt me by providing copies of scholarships from other schools because Drexel pretty much gave me the same amount as the other schools I applied to. I’m better off not sending it right? But, I don’t have additional supporting documents that I can attach with my appeal… The main reason I’m appealing is because of my parent’s current financial situation.

My only piece of advice is put together what you think is reasonable (either focus on the academics, or the financial need, or both if possible) but whatever you do don’t wait too long. We faxed in our appeal 10 days ago and are still waiting for the response (we were told it was send on the 17th but here we are three days later …) We were originally told that the appeals committee would process our appeal within 72 hours, but I’m no so sure that’s true.

Nanotech, I was originally offered a $22,500 A.J. Drexel (merit) Scholarship. Post-appeal, I was offered a $30,000 scholarship instead.

Phillydad, it took a week and a half for me. Check your Drexel portal- it’ll update above your aid info to say that they’ve received the appeal, and again when they’ve actually reviewed it.

Soulverity7, Drexel says in their appeals information specifically to include any competing awards from other schools, as I’m sure you know. If you’re really afraid to, I would call the school and ask. Otherwise, see if there’s anything you can send - letters, documents, whatever - the verify your claim of your family’s finances. Drexel may be able to help you to figure out what to send in terms of that as well. Overall, I would simply call the school’s financial aid office and ask what you should do. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help, but I think those questions are best answered by the school itself!

I’m just not sure what to do. I had dropped off my appeal form on friday, April 20, without including copies of competing awards from other schools. Should I go ahead and email it to them? Or should I call and ask first?
