Appeal?

Just another UCSD hopeful with a couple questions about appealing.

1840 SAT
660/630 SAT IIs
30 ACT
4.11 W GPA
4.1 UC GPA
4 years basketball, varsity captain; awards every year
3.5 years leadership, 2 years in charge of technology committee
3 years bboy club, historian last year + president this year
9 APs
Euro -3
US - 4
English - 3
Calc - not so good :|
volunteers at homeless shelter every month
volunteered at election polls twice

I applied as undeclared and got rejected. I was wondering if in my appeal I could talk about how after my experience with witnessing my aunt's seizure and going to the pharmacy with her made me realize that I want to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical field. Is that even possible? To talk about a different major/path than the one I applied with? I never mentioned any of this in my original application, and this would show UCSD that I know what I want to do instead of being undecided.
I'd probably briefly mention that I also got a 4.33 GPA for fall semester and I was awarded the most prestigious award for basketball.

Can anyone shine some light on my dilemma?

being undeclared does not affect your chances for admission. given what you said, my personal feeling is that an appeal with those reasons will not reverse the decision.

I know someone that appealed successfully dreams do come true.
