<p>The idea started in the early 1970's that men and women have evolved separately to some extent. I don't think it is too much to say that it is mainstream science now. It does make sense to me, what with the X and the Y chromosomes.</p>
<p>As I said, I think generalizations (abstractions) are useful so long as they are not applied automatically to all individuals in the group. It seems that generalizing about women and URM's is perfectly acceptable so long as you are saying nice things, but not if the generalization can be construed negatively.</p>
<p>Grades w/o knowledge of the curriculum and program and rather nebulous. Asking on CC and every school is competitive and highly selective......right.</p>
