Hey guys, so sadly, I got rejected from UCSB with a 3.55 UC GPA and a 29 ACT score. As a result, I plan on appealing to them with the hopes of getting in, as it is my dream school. On the other hand, the only other school I got accepted to (UCR) has a SIR deadline of May 1. I read somewhere that UCSB does not release appeal decisions until late May. What do I do in the event that I SIR to UCR and UCSB accepts me?

you lose the deposit money

Just so you know there is a really low chance of getting an appeal accepted. So i dont know if its worth not going to riverside for. If you get declined you’re going to have to end up going to community since you said the deadline for ucr is before the appeal of sb

do you know how much the deposit is? @waitlistsucks

Yeah… unless I SIR to UCR first, then rescind it if I get accepted to my UCSB appeal. I know appealing is a reach, but hey, worth a shot haha. I got rejected from all the UCs I applied to, I got nothing to lose lmao @oldschoolboy

@THmustang The non-refundable deposit is $100.

Same @THmustang I’m going to appeal to ucsb too.
On their site it says that they recommend you put your high school/college transcripts…
Are you going to put your high school transcript?

im appealing too guys

Ya I probably will include the transcript because I got a 4.1 with all AP classes @oldschoolboy

@THMustang oh damn thats nice. I’m not going to do that aha i got a 3.1 1st semester senior year.
Also I’m wondering how would SB know who we are when we appeal? Do we put out application ID number or what do we do?

I’m not entirely sure @oldschoolboy haha. I would think so! I’m gonna talk to my counselor today about the appeal process, I’ll let you know how it goes man

Aight thanks. Let me know definitely. My counselors are booked for like two weeks so thanks man @THMustang
