I plan on appealing
I feel like if I hadn't picked engineering for my intended major, I would've gotten in.
everyone from my school that are in top 50 and applied there got in, and the people who didn't get in are the people who applied for any sort of engineering major
It wasn't even my intended major, I just picked it randomly.

With that being said, what is typically included in an appeal letter? any extra stuff that would increase my chances?
I know the chances are weird but i'm still gonna do it. it would be helpful if any of you guys know people who are going there by appealing and how they did it.

I don’t know the appealing process but it may seem like from their point of view that because you didn’t get in for engineering, you are trying to get in through an easier way, not through engineering.

seriously, I have no idea why people appeal. You got rejected. Don’t feel like your entitled to go to X college just because you’ve got over a 4.0 and decent scores.
ONLY appeal if you accomplished something extremely significant after you turned in your application. If you are just appealing for the sake of it, hoping they’ll review your app again, don’t waste your time. I’ve had friends do that to no avail.

im on here to ask for an opinion
no need to be offensive.
having a high gpa meant lots of hard work
anyone with good scores, good EC and good grades knows and wants their hard work to pay off.
so damn straight i feel like i deserved to get into that “X college”
whats your problem anyways against people appealing?
this forum is for students helping each other out, not a place for people like you to bash on others.

Honestly, I don’t really see the makings of a strong appeal letter. Unless you have a convincing reason you can tell the admission office about why you want to change your major from engineering to something easier, I gotta say you’re gonna need a lot of luck to wing this one.

Jamie, you got into great schools and, honestly, I wouldn’t be too worried about not getting into Cal. College is whatever you make of it, and the schools you got into will get your far in life.

i know you must all think im arrogant and that i dont have a good case. but I think trying is at least better than doing nothing at all. i really wanted to go there.
:)

Do you have any information that you didn’t include on your application?

If your sole reason for appealing is to get into a different college, then don’t even bother. That’s not something you didn’t include. You chose to apply to COE and you got rejected. Bad choice, deal with it.
