<p>I got a parking ticket during Preview for parking the wrong way. I appealed it just because I thought it was rediculous to give anyone a ticket during Preview especially for something that dumb. Do you think I could get it appealed? If not, are they going to contact me before my 15 days are up so I know I have to pay them?</p>
<p>if it was during preview, i’d call admissions and see if they can pull some strings. probably wont happen though, because ufpd are sticklers when it comes to this stuff. were you ticketed for parking facing traffic?</p>

<p>I successfully appealed a ticket I got a long time ago for not having a permit on one of the first days of the semester. All I had to do was go down to the department of transportation (or whatever they call it) and fill out a short form. My friends also had decent success rates appealing other types of tickets as well.</p>
<p>They will usually remove the ticket if it is ur first.</p>

<p>I don’t know how they expect students to know some of the rules they enforce. It took me three years there before I knew you couldn’t back into a parking space. It might be difficult to appeal because its either you didn’t pack correctly or you did. Not something debatable such as having a permit or something like that.</p>
<p>Since it’s your first one, and it’s rule that’s reasonable to be ignorant of, I bet they accept your appeal.</p>
<p>I actually don’t know of anyone who failed on their first appeal, and can’t htink of anyone who was successful on subsequent appeals.</p>

<p>i got 2 parking tickets during preview for parking the wrong way how gay is that. i went to parking.ufl.edu and appealed both and supposedly they send u something via postmail in a few weeks</p>
<p>Curse those UFPD parking patrols. Last year, they cost me $200+ total in citations on ridiculous violations. Oh well, lesson learned. Parking Sucks.</p>
<p>If you don’t plan on getting a decal, you don’t have to pay them. Without a decal, they have no way of knowing whom the car belongs to. You can get two tickets that way. If you get a third ticket though, they will put a boot on your car.
Once again, only works if you don’t intend on getting a decal, once you do, it will be linked to your license plate and a hold will be placed on your UF account.</p>
<p>yeaah I’m kinda mad I appealed. How would they have followed up on me if I hadn’t? They don’t have any of my contact info. I don’t plan on parking at school.</p>

<p>It’s a UF parking ticket, it has absolutely nothing to do with the police department.</p>
