I'm OOS which I know is already a problem but I'm jsut wondering if Berkeley would even consider changing the aid they gave me at all? My EFC was kind of high, but my family sent a letter explaining the whole situation and yet berkeley expects me to pay the full 53K a year, which is impossible. If I could drive that down to 30K somehow, Berkeley would be it. I really want to attend, it's one of my dreams schools but this huge lack of aid is holding me back.

How would I go about appealing my aid?

[UC Berkeley Financial Aid Office: Undergraduates Forms](http://students.berkeley.edu/finaid/undergraduates/forms.htm)

You want either the parent or student contribution appeal form.

Do realize, though, that it’s kind of a long shot (especially as an OOS student). I mean, sometimes colleges don’t correctly estimate what you can afford, but convincing them that you need 23k more in aid is going to be very very hard. So sure, go ahead and try, but don’t hold your breath.

Well, thanks for the link! I don’t have too much hope but there’s no harm in trying.

Tell me how it goes. I’m oos as well, but my family would have to pay ~$40,000 yearly, and I would love to lower that done to $30,000 too.

oopsies I mean "lower that down "
