Appealing financial aid

if our FA wasn't enough I understand that we can appeal.

I looked at cornell forms for appealing for financial aid and it was a list of reasons and we had to send proof backing up those reasons (ex. if family member died we have to send loss of income form)

and i dont really match any of those reasons, but I am pretty darn poor and need more FA because I am not getting it elsewhere

so is there anyway i can get more?

(if it helps i got into vanderbilt and it gave me all but 5k, so does cornell match aid?)

Cornell only matches aid to other Ivy League schools + Stanford and MIT. Cornell only gave me about 10k the first time, but I appealed and now have about 18k. So appeals CAN work really well, providing you make a strong case for yourself.

it really wont work for any other school other than ivies, stanford or mit. i got FULL at georgetown and they have the same policy for meeting 100% finaid as cornell does and they still aren’t giving me anything

oye thanks guys.

@aseyelum: did you complete the form for appealing though and were able to prove you needed more aid with one of the checklist choices?

I submitted a monthly expense form and proof of another family member’s tuition.
