As long as i perform really well on my upcoming midterms i am thinking of appealing my rejection to state.
the site says

"Students who are not offered admission into Michigan State University may submit a letter of appeal to the Office of Admissions and Scholarships. This request for a reconsideration of an application file must be made in writing, and should state specific reasons why the application for admission should be reconsidered (i.e. new test scores, recent change in a GPA, etc.)
Letters of appeal should be mailed to:
Office of Admissions and Scholarships
Michigan State University
250 Administration Building
East Lansing, MI 48824-0590"

If your 7th semester was better overall than your other years in high school then have your counselor send msu a new transcript when those grades are available. And maybe a letter of recommendation as well, if your counselor or any teachers are willing to do that. I looked up your stats on an old post and the only thing that looks bad is your gpa, so if you can show good improvement for this semester I’m sure they’ll be more lenient on a re-review.

Lightening, there may be another way. Maybe you could go to a community college or a different college for a year or two and then transfer. I think you would have to get fantastic grades to show MSU you can handle it. Your test scores are really good. Good luck on whatever you try.

Honestly, if you don’t get in it’s really not the end of the world!! Transferring is relatively easy, my friend had a high school GPA of 2.7 and a mediocre ACT score but got a 4.0 his first year of college (not at MSU) and then transferred to MSU his sophomore year. Good luck on your appeal though

i got rejected and was totally surprised
i have a 30 ACT and a 3.5 GPA
i have volunteer hours, 4 years of football, etc…
the thing is that my 7th semester grades were the worst they have been EVER
i had a really bad case of senioritis

Wow I’m a junior and my third marking period grades are not good compared to the rest of my junior year ( and as though many may not believe me, large part of my grades wasn’t my fault). This only makes me question my chances of admission more.

I’m not sure if you should appeal, any other universities you’ve got accepted into? I think it will be a must for me to apply to Arizona State University, University of Arizona, or University of Colorado- Boulder along with Michigan State University and University of Michigan- Ann Arbor.
