BU recently took away a significant amount away in a grant. My tentative aid award was cut in half, which makes little sense considering none of my financial statuses changed. If i were to appeal, how likely would it be that they would give me some money back?

No one really knows except the Financial Aid office but you should really appeal especially since nothing changed when it comes to your family finances. Same thing happened to my friend who will be attending Georgetown, but she appealed and got her money back. Thus, don’t hesitate in appealing.

Do you know if all the awards are out yet because I haven’t gotten mine and I applied on time?

Also I would appeal

My daughter got her award in the mail today, if that helps.

Do you happen to live close to BU? I live in Texas.

I just went to the Orientation last week. All awards are tentative until they receive all the necessary paperwork. I had thought I had sent everything into the Financial Aid office but they had no record of receiving our 2012 returns. Thus, I’m making copies and rushing them into the financial aid office. You might want to check to see if they have received all your information. Because they require the FAFSA filed so early, it may mean the final version of Tax returns have not been mailed. I believe there is a deadline for sending this information (end of June) because bills go out early July and the first semester’s tuition payment is due August 6th.

We’re in NH. The letter said something about them having verified the information–I assume they meant the tax forms. Hopefully, you’ll get your letter today or tomorrow.
