Appeals to Berkeley?

I was rejected from Berkeley as an Econ major with a 3.74. I was wondering if it would be worth my time to appeal, my gpa is a 3.8 now (took winter classes in january), and my essay won 3rd place in my school's best essays contest (though i guess this has nothing to do with my major :P ). i can get a good letter of rec from my counselor if that would help as well. should i bother?

I was rejected from Haas with a 3.94 and I have decided to appeal…
yet I have a question, can I appeal saying I would prefer a different major (Econ)? since the acceptance rate for econ is much higher than haas…and I really want to get into UCB…
is that possible to appeal based on major changing?? thanks

i dont think im gona even try appealing. if i cant convince them with a 3.82 gpa there’s nothing else i can say that’s “compelling”
basing an appeal on major switching sounds like a crock

I also want to appeal to Berkeley, does anybody here can help us?

well i know it sounds like a crock but i have seen an old post saying a student did it and finally got into ucla…don’t know if it’s true tho…
anyway i am going to call the admission office on monday (it was closed when i called at 430).
i think it’s worth trying…cuz i won’t lose anything doing so

i want to know why i got rejected actually, but i’m set for LA now

i’m not sure if declaring a different major would work, because that’s essentially like asking for a second chance at applying isnt it?

but maybe if you got rejected cause of something related to prerequisites, and you have completed the prereqs for a different major than the one you originally applied into, then maybe you could have a case.
