Appeals? When, How, What?!

When should i start writing appeals? who do i send them to? do they work? enlighten me!

i sent mine for ucsb about 2 weeks ago… the admissions counselor said i have a good chance of getting in through appeal, but im not keeping hopes… they said they will start reviewing appeals may 1st… but thats just uci…

u should do it… it doesnt hurt to u know?

In order to have a successful appeal you need to give them new and compelling information that was not in your application when you applied, most typically, an upward grade trend. It also helps to mention specific professors/programs that you are interested in, in order to show that you have done some research into the school and have a vested interest in attending.

Canescans… “new and compelling information.” is only true for some UCs. some UCs dont accept new information b/c they feel that you should be accepted based on what u applied with, not what u did after.
