I was accepted ID to Rice (notified online) but since I'm all the way out in Asia I still havent' gotten my packet yet. Problem is my supplemental application to Rice/Baylor is in there (I'm assuming it is since I ticked the box on the Rice U app...)...

If it's due back in by the end of February, I'm going to need a bit of a head start. Can any of you give me the essay qs (that's all we need, right?)? Or a contact number? Is/has any other overseas students had this problem?

yeah, you probably need to contact admissions soon b/c i'm doing the rice/baylor thing, and it's due on Feb 24th (which is this coming Thursday) i applied ED, so the date MIGHT be different for me - not sure though.

i'll need it nspeds, it's so silly how few med-related activities I have. practically none!
whatever happens, I will be happy that I'm into Rice at all.

Don't worry mea, I'm sure you'll have spectacular essays... even if you don't have a lot of med-related activities, I'm sure Rice will notice your potential. :D

My friend applied to a slew of 7-yr (or 8) med programs and she also doesn't have a lot of med-related activities, so don't let it bother you.

who else is trying out for rice/baylor? I don't know, I'm reading my essays over again and there is just NO WAY that I can make it not cheesy. Granted I think it's pretty good because everything is true but I dunno. My friends liked it a lot but one of them straight up told me that my writing style changed from serious and no nonsense to VERY cheesy-but in a good way (whatever that means). Oh well, I guess cheesy will have to do. BTW how's everyone else doing on their essays?

ahhh the essays are KILLING MEE!! haha i'm trying to get them "perfect" cuz my stats aren't exactly the highest xP... omg.. but i still can't believe that i've procrastinated for two months.. ACK!!! good luck to everyone else who's doing it!

haha lucky!! I was accepted ID, so I only got two weeks to write this thing...and I'm being killllled by these essays. Have the rice/baylor one down pat, but I need to do the most meaningful activity one...arrrrgh!!!

if I recall correctly, the letter for ID just vaguely says: "sent in BY Feb 24th"... or something to that extent. whether that means recieved or postmarked by, is in question. I hope it's postmarked by. They will probably have some leinancy (sp?) on us.. at least that's what I'm praying for.

just throwing a question out there - are your essays more "artsy", creative writing types or more of a serious "I want to be a doctor because 1... 2... 3.."?
