I remember that in the past, you could get a free (after rebates) iPod or printer with a computer purchase. I tried buying one online as a student, but they offered me just the printer along with a $100 discount. Does any one know if they will be offering iPods again sometimes in the future?

Apple usually offers a back-to-school special in the summertime, for students. In past years, along with the small educational discount (available at any time, ranging from $50 to $150), Apple offered rebates on a printer and an iPod (typically the most inexpensive Touch model). This past Summer, Apple offered the printer rebate plus a $100 iTunes gift card. This was accompanied by some gnashing of teeth on this site (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-computers/1151427-apple-store-summer-promotions-3.html), as many folks anticipated another free iPod Touch deal.

I have no idea what Apple is planning for this Summer, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on it being a free iPod. I’d bet on another $100 iTunes offer, along with the regular academic discounts.

Apple never says what they will do in the future. ;)

Any Macbook Pro specials going on right now for students?

I think we’d call it just the usual:
