Applicable for in state tuition?

Hey everyone, I got a question for you guys. So basically here’s my situation. I’m applying to UMass Amherst for Early Action. I’m wondering if you guys think I can still apply for in state tuition (on the common app portion) even if I live in NH- I live like literally five minutes of walking distance to the border. What should I do?

NH does not equal MA. If you want instate tuition, apply to UNH. End of story.

Unless UMass offers a program that UNH does not offer, then their is an interstate agreement between the NE states that would allow you to pay an intermediate tuition, between instate and OOS. For example, UMass and UNH do not have Master of Library Science programs, but URI does. MA and NH students can attend URI’s program for the intermediate cost.

It comes down to taxes. if you pay MA taxes, you can get in state tuition. If you live in NH and pay NH taxes, you get in state tuition at UNH.

As noted above there is an agreement among the New England states to help out if your state schools don’t offer a particular major.
