Applicant Demographic Information

Hello all,

Where can we find information on the what constitutes the applicant pool? does it sound terrible when I say that that we do not want to apply to schools where there is a preponderance of Indian students.
We are citizens - living outside the country - so i wonder what category we will fall under.

is this even worth considering?
how many applicants from any one country?
rate of acceptance?

These are genuine questions from a harried parent - no offence to anyone.

thanks for your help in advance

Go to Google and enter - college data and then the name of the school you are searching for. It should come up as the first choice.

I have yet to figure out if Indian is categorized as white or Asian on the application forms.

thank you very much!!
I just know that schools such as rutgers or princeton will have a high concentration - will try to find something more concrete.

I doubt that you will find externally reported data on admission rates by country of origin.
I think most colleges will find the question inappropriate.

You will find overall that Priceton and it’s peer schools quota every ethnic group. You would not find anywhere near the percentage of Indians (or any Asian group) there that you would at a state school in a state with a concentration of Indians. State schools mostly do not (can not) consider race whereas private colleges very much do.

@siliconvalleymom : thank you. as i mentioned - no offence to anyone: but this “criterion” is something I keep hearing about.

@Redroses: Thank you. I will try to not make this a limiting factor.
