Applicant #s for Princeton vs Harvard

I wasn’t insinuating that you didn’t know about it. It would be weird if you didn’t since the link you provided had many different opinions about the decrease. I was merely stating my own opinion and .adding to the topic of applicant numbers. In no way was I specifically responding to you.

That little ^ can convey so much (and be so misleading - oh the treachery of internet forums) aye! For the record, I completely agree with your reasoning as to why there was a Yale drop, and wasn’t trying to insinuate anything about you either.

Perhaps also that’s why some students felt that the bucolic protection of the orange bubble was a good place to go.

Actually I LOVE Yale too, but I was sadly :frowning: rejected SCEA. I gave up hope applying to my other reaches like HPS since only 30 something % of the apps were rejected at Yale so how could I possibly have a chance anywhere else ( especially since my grades dropped senior year to some Bs):(. I pretty much used the same app, so I’m not expecting much on April 1st

You’ll be right! I’m sure you’ll end up somewhere fantastic wherever it may be - que sera, que sera. Everything works out for the best. I also used essentially the same essays for all HYP. Best of luck on April 1st!

Yes, and Princeton’s huge increase this year was because it failed to do what HYS did last year – aggressively go after applicants who may or may not even be able to get in. I was bombarded with HYS mailings, yet got nothing from P. This was the case with everyone to whom I talked.
