Accepted! Yay!

hope- did you check out your provincial award?

My son was accepted... that was expected. However, how/when does Case notify of any scholarship awards? Should we have seen that on the status page already?

Thanks.

Who applied and hasn't received a decision on the status page yet?
Mine remains unchanged.

I think it's only for people who applied for the PPSP (pre-professional scholars program). My status remains unchanged as well.

It sounds like the regular decisions are sort of rolling - I didn't apply to PPSP so I was really surprised that my decision was up already.
And shreya.iitk, I did check my provincial award. $27,500 Trustee's scholarship and around $3000 in loans. Not too bad at all. Do you know if getting awarded one of the main scholarships means a student is out of the running for an academic award scholarship?

woohoo i just got in too and i didn't apply to PPSP!!! So excited..

and I got $36,370 for Financial Aid!!

hey hope18...in the status for financial aid in briefCase, it says I haven't completed the second step. It says the document needed is:

Admission to a Degree-Seeking Program at Case

Did you also get that/do you know what it means?

accepted and am not PPSP applicant

I'm really hoping that not getting a decision now doesn't equal a rejection.

My bad, then.
I don't think a lack of decision equals rejection... Case is one of my safeties, and I had a great interview there over the summer.
And I applied in November (5 minutes after the EA deadline... whoops!), so I suppose it isn't rolling by date of application.

i didn't apply to PPSP either and they keep rolling decisions till april 1.
Hope- cogratulations,
My EFC is like nil - so i got like 10000$ in loans about which i am not really too happy.
Pdoshi- you have to wait till you get your acceptance letter in mail and then you will be able to complete step 2.

Okay, I finally found where you guys were seeing these provisional awards.

Looks like my son got the same Trustee's scholarship as Hope. Nice, but probably won't be nice enough. Looking more and more like he'll be attending Pitt... unless we're missing something here. I guess he probably just didn't have enough EC's to punch into that top tier of full tuition awards.

Just found out from a Case rep (which everyone else may have already known... perhaps even stated... sorry if I missed it...)... that the provisional award is strictly an estimate of need based aid... and does not reflect any additional scholarship which may or may not be granted in terms of merit awards. So, we continue to have our fingers crossed!

(it may come up short in the end... but it SEEMS like the stars are aligning here... they even just started 2 non-stop flights to Cleveland for Omaha, Nebraska... where we are located... which we never had before)

Accepted!
Can't find the link to provisional award, though...
help?

Still, nothing's changed. Anyone else who hasn't received notification yet?

Ah... found it. Trustee's scholarship ($27,500) and some loans... nice, but not quite enough to make Case affordable.

For those who need to find scholarship info in the future-
use this link:

ID/password are the same as for checking admission status.

When you finish filling out the form, (it's pretty quick) you'll see your financial aid package, including merit scholarships.

I just checked the Financial Aid Provisional Award site before I checked the Application Status for my son. He applied RD and has been awarded the Trusee's Scholarship = $27,500 + OSCG = $660 + $3,500 in Unsibsidized Loans. Total provisional award totals $31,660.

My question is: Does the Provisional Award figure include the National Merit Finalist Scholarship?

Case Loan $4,900
Federal College Work Study Program (FCWSP) $3,000
Federal Perkins Loan $2,000
Federal Stafford Loan - Subsidized $3,500
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) $200
Private Loan / PLUS Loan $2,175
Trustees’ Scholarship $27,500
Total: $43,275

Does this mean I have to (eventually) pay back all but the 27,500 and 3,000 work study? And this is before the FAFSA is factored in, right?

You don't have to pay back the grant either but yes you do need to pay back all loans
