Applicant to UW Seattle

Hello! I’m just an extremely nervous senior that only ever wanted to go to one school. If possible, I would like to have an idea of my chances. I understand that it all comes down to the essay. I’m working on that, and hopefully, it is the best thing I’ve ever written in my life!

I have 3 years of Spanish total.

I am an in-state applicant, and also first-generation college student.

You’re in range. Good luck!

It’s not healthy to only focus on one school. Download the Washington Council college guide and find another couple schools to add to your list.

Washington’s Common Data Set reports that in making admissions decisions, rigor of secondary school record, academic GPA, and application essays are “very important,” and standardized test scores, ECs, talent/ability, first generation, volunteer work, and work experience are “important.” Character/personal qualities and state residency are also “considered.”

You’re looking good across the board (especially your GPA), but you’re right about the importance of application essays to the UW.

You should consider applying to the Honors Program.

Good luck!
