Applicants Outside below the SAT score range

About how many applicants to a college score below the 25th percentile of its students on the SAT? Obviously there's no general answer and it's obviously going to differ according to a colleges prestige.

I'm most interested about getting the answer in regards to Ivy League schools and other similarly prestigious ones. Do any colleges release "applicant statistics" rather than just "admission statistics"? If not, does anyone have an educated, general guess?

that’s true, one can imagine that low acceptance rates at places like Harvard, Yale and the rest of the ivies can be in part, due to a certain number people applying who are terribly under-qualified and are “just doing it for kicks”.

Brown provides some of this information. Look on the right column: [Brown Admission: Facts & Figures](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University)

Assuming the percentiles on CollegeBoard.com are also for the Class of 2013, 30% of Brown’s applicants had a Critical Reading score beneath the 25th percentile. The other two sections’ 25th percentiles fall between the divisions Brown used on their site, but you should still be able to get a gist of it.
