applicants: possible majors

7-biology :)

Nakim, MIT doesn't admit based on major, so no matter which major you write down, it won't help or hurt your chances.

And haha, zoogies, I was wondering if somebody would notice that. I mean, it's not in the course guide or anything, but everybody knows course 19 is hacking. ;)

Laura, I really do think I read somewhere that BE would take over 20, although a quick search of The Tech indicates that my mind may be slipping in my advanced age. I'll try to find a source on that.

I wrote down 5. I want 3/5 or 6

Isn't 19 applied mechanical engineering and rope physics, or something like that?

There's an explicit list of which numbers have meant what over the years, but I can't seem to locate it at the moment

Something like this, mollieb?

How about this:

"The Biological Engineering (BE) Division is launching a new BE SB degree in the 2005-2006 Academic Year, just in time to welcome the incoming class of 2009. The Dean of Engineering Dr. Thomas Magnanti has recently requested that MIT recognize BE with a course number (Course 20)."

i don't know what i wrote but it goes along the lines of math and chemistry for sure

Biological Engineering

6-3 CS
and 18 math
for me

Awesome, thanks sakky!

stasterisk: impressively close. I'm always so amazed by how much MIT stuff you guys know already. I believe the "offical" name for course 19 is "applied mechanical engineering in an urban setting."

Where did it mention the course numbers for the different fields?

Hmm.. probably 18-3 || 6-2 and 18-1.

It'll be 18 and 7 for me if I get in.
