Applicants Thread C/O 2019

Hmm…I thought scholarships were the only thing coming from directly from the college.

We finally heard tonight via email at 4:30pm - my son applied via Early Decision. What a relief to have it locked in and set before December!!

@rockwoodmama Congratulations!! I suppose we’ll have to wait a bit longer…my son did Early Action, not Early Decision.

I’m not sure where you are from but we love San Antonio…this is our home. I hope your son will be very happy here.

Thank you @edumax! We are from Austin so we are excited to have our son at such a great school nearby.

Hope you get great news as well soon.

@rockwoodmama congrats! Would you mind sharing his stats?

ED decisions are out. Can everyone share their results/stats?

@Universitya11 we haven’t heard anything yet…but my son was EA not ED. Did you get an admission decision?

@edumax EA here as well, have not heard from Trinity yet. Heard great results from ED friends.

I read somewhere that EA would be notified by Dec 15. Is that what others are expecting?

@hstrsphnt yes, hopefully the 14th since the 15th is a Saturday. One more week.

So sorry I never got back to you on this! We are liberal, and a mixed race couple, so our son is 1/2 black and 1/2 white. We have raised him in OP, KS, and he has never felt out of place, and has not seemed to feel out of place at Trinity. I’m hearing that years ago it was kind of conservative, but not so anymore. Seems he has felt very much at home. PS - Trinity is private so there’s no such thing at in-state tuition - expensive for all but they offer lots of merit aid to make it affordable. It’s been a good fit for him and us.

@sahmkc - please see above

Thanks @“Michigan87#” ! I’m glad to hear that your DS is loving Trinity as an OOS. My “in-state” tutition comment was regarding Texas state medical schools after undergrad. Missouri does not have many options for medical schools, but Texas has around a dozen and many are state schools. After speaking with the head of the Pre-Med committee at Trinity and researching her opportunties for med schools in Texas, she moved Trinity to the top of her list. Just a few more days until the decision come out - keeping my fingers crossed!

Does anyone know anything about what Trinity University means when they say that “Murchison scholars and other exceptional applicants will be invited to compete for the Trinity Towers scholarship” ?? What does other exceptional applicants entail ?? Does it refer to applicants who almost made the academic requirements for scholarship consideration, or applicants who have strong extracurriculars and demonstrated interest ?? Or ???

@sahmkc - best of luck! I remember this time last year playing the waiting game. Exciting times!

I would suggest looking at the Semmes and Tower Weekend 2018 thread. My recollection from there was a pretty limited number of folks are invited.

DS is waiting too. Trinity is his #1 choice. Roll on Friday, fingers crossed for all y’all.

Does anyone know is EA results are going to be out this friday (tomorrow) as well as ED? My son did EA and we are so want to find out this week!

@ceramicmom I think others posted that ED notifications went out a few days ago but I haven’t seen anything about EA yet. Fingers crossed that tomorrow will be the day!!
