Applicants to UCLA down... ?

Applicants to UCLA this year: 55,205 (down 3%)
I blame this on UC Merced funnelling away our slice of the application pie...

<a href="http://www.dailybruin.ucla.edu/news/articles.asp?id=31822%5B/url%5D">http://www.dailybruin.ucla.edu/news/articles.asp?id=31822</a></p>

UC Merced? Why? It's the newest of UCs and not comparable to UCLA at all.

55,205 is still a lot though.

yeah - its still more than 50% of the overall UC applications. Not bad if you ask me

Personally I don't think I care if apps are down..it means less competition for me, so that is a good thing. ;)

Unless it means that the pool is stronger, despite less applicants as the weaker applicants apply elsewhere.

D'oh!

So much for the dream.

Sorry exilo; just think positive.

OH I am just kidding. I am too busy to worry. Okay, that might be a lie...I am not worried so much as I am anxious to find out. Mostly because where ever I am going it will be a logistical nightmare to move and the sooner I know the more time I have to prepare.

And yeah, I really wanna get into UCLA. ;) And anticipation is a b1tch.

Thank goodness Feb. is the shortest month! We get to March faster.

That's a good point! I like your logic...
