Application Acknowledgment

Am I the only person who hasn't received an acknowledgment of my application? Everything - common app, supp, fee - was submitted on time.

Someone enlighten me of my plight, please?

I would suggest confirming everything got there okay, a general rule of thumb for any app. NYU lost my transcript the first time (confirmed, they even sent the pre-stamped note my counselor included in the package back saying everything was there). And on my application to Babson I never even sent the supplement (on purpose, because NYU was ED so I just never completed it) but they accepted me anyway. Which did not make my counselor happy by any means since she and I both thought they accidentally swapped someone else’s supplemental essay with mine since my name isn’t exactly rare. And technically, I violated ED.

Point is, it always pays to be sure.

i didn’t received an e-mail either. i would wait until jan 20 to contact them like they say on the website though because they’re probably still processing and sorting.

lol phew…

So it’s the 23rd and I still haven’t received and email from NYU… have you guys? anyway, I’m going to call on Monday. and email.

Nope. I called a few days ago. They said call back the first week of February because they can’t give telephone confirmations yet. They also said it’s most likely that have the application anyway.

^I’d wait till February.

For whatever reason, it seems that it takes them longer to confirm the common app than the Embark application (maybe because more people used Common App?). I submitted my Embark app on the deadline and got my confirmation email a few days later. My friend submitted his Common app around the same time (maybe a day or so before), and he didn’t get a response until a week or so later.

If that helps,I’ve received an e-mail notification from them today.

me too i got it today

I still did not get an official confirmation e-mail. BUT I posted a question on the NYU Bulletin Board (it isn’t publicly shown), and the assistant director of admissions e-mailed me back personally telling me that my application was entered into the system on of January 11, but the status is “not complete” as of right now likely because everything has not been sorted/processed yet. She gave me my NYU ID # and said to feel free to check back in about two weeks.
