DD application check list still shows it is missing recommendation letter 2 for honors college. Teacher says she submitted it on nov15, shouldn't it show as received? Wouldn't it be automatically attached to her application since teacher filled out a link sent to her from USC? Everything else shows received. We are worried she wont receive notification in Dec. If this is not corrected. Anyone else experiencing recommendations not showing as received?

Yes, exact same situation for DD. I encouraged her to ask GC about it. She did and GC called USC Admissions. They asked her to call again tomorrow 11/21 to confirm letters have been received. GC insists she put them in mail on 11/4. Maddening! Sure hope everything has arrived and deadline of 11/15 is made. Maddening!!

My daughter’s teacher sent it via email! That’s why I can’t understand why it doesn’t show as received. It is maddening?

I believe one of our DD’s college professors sent via e-mail and the GC mailed two letters as back up. GC insists they say she made the 11/15 deadline. sure hope that’s right! good luck to your daughter. Have you visisted there yet? We have not. Not even sure how/when my DD decided she was interested as it wasn’t on her original list.

We have visited and DD was surprised at how much she liked it. It was not on her original list either!

Wait until you visit the campus and check on the Honors buildings. You will be sold

One of my recommendations didn’t get sent in until after the deadline (by email) and it took forever to show up. I called maybe a week or two later, and the woman on the phone found it and updated my online credentials. I found out I got into the Honors College on Christmas Eve. I encourage your kids to call today (they’ll probably be closed for the rest of the week for Thanksgiving) and they can probably get it all fixed.

The only credential for me that showed up as being on time were my ACT scores which were the last thing I sent and those were what I was worried about not making it on time for the deadline.

I think it just takes a long time for them to update their system. I called last year to make sure they had everything, because I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to receive my letter in October. I called and was told they had everything they needed on file, so I was good to go.

So the best thing to do is just call.
