Application Confirmation

Has anyone who applied before the Dec. 15 deadline receive a mail confirmation? After I submitted part 1 I got something in the mail. On the website it says I have completed the application on dec. 14. I had a complication with my essay which I called and had fixed, but I still believe I met the dec. 15 deadline cause I sumbitted on Dec. 14.

They have also said to check your application status, but I cannot find a place on the website to do so.

Anyone else having similar problems?

I'd call the office.

My d did early decision and we received a letter two weeks later explaining that 17 people go over the applications and how they look at many factors. They also sent us an ED financial aid form at that time to fill out. I think regular decision candidates just do the FAFSA application, so not sure if they write back to you in the same way. The website is a little frustrating, because they just keep a check next to your transcript and essay and don't update it when it arrives. They probably would have called you by now if anything was missing, but it's worth giving them a call to check.

I didn't know that they sent a separate form for financial aid if you apply ED. Does this have anything to do with qualifying for a scholarship??? I attended an open house for hs jrs in December with my daughter, and no financial aid form other than the FAFSA was discussed. Thanks!

The form sent out was basically a way for them to estimate your aid before doing the FAFSA. So as part of the ED acceptance package they can let you know if you qualify for aid or a scholarship in advance.
You still need to fill out FAFSA to then qualify for anything. If your financial numbers are the same in the ED estimate you do in December and the FAFSA you do now...then you basically know in advance what the school will offer. Unfortunately for me that is basically nothing!!

The ED package says that you have been reviewed for scholarship and either you got one or didn't in the package. It also goes on to say if you didn't that there are still a few specialized scholarships left. Distinguished Scholars where 100 top applicants will be invited to a competition, it's invitation only and you must be top of class and have SAT around 2200, also Agricultural, Music, Art & Athletic Scholarships are awarded in the Spring.

That's to compete for the DuPont Scholarships correct?

I believe so....it says some are for tuition others are full scholarships.
