Application confirmation

I got mine today! :) everything was completed except for the mid-year report!

I just got the e-mail and the page says they are missing my Personal Essay...how weird is that? I sent it with the Common Application!

i also got mine today. they said not to call but how do you fix an error in an additional essay? It sort of messed up the meaning of the sentence.

lol,
um.... how weird... missing personal essay? lol,

im only missing my midyear report... which will be sent... hopefully soon?

park_it, have you heard back from Swarthmore yet re your intent to submit an EDII application?

I called in yesterday as soon as rechecked the forum and got the mix-up changed. The lady who answered my call said that it was probably a "coding error." So now, it says on the top of the webpage: 'Winter Early Decision 2006 Application Checklist'

Thank you, everybody for your concern. :)

Swarthmore seems to really mix it up with the apps. I sent in my counselor and 2 teacher's rec in one package, and they have listed one teacher's rec as outstanding. They were all in the same package! I'm going to be patient though.

not much to do now but wait...

I do know that at many schools they totally strip the application packet apart and send it off in different directions before it's actually placed in the applicant's file. That's why a rec may be checked in and a supplemental essay included in the same mailing will not.

Cami- can you elaborate on that?

Andi,

When we were applying to Chicago, we had problems with certain items being checked in immediately and certain items appearing as not received. I knew they'd been sent in the same packet. My son called U Chicago. They explained they strip apart everything in the mailing and put it in different piles. I'm not sure why this is necessary, but that's what they do. Because of this, things that arrive in the same mailing can get checked in at different times. I don't know how Swarthmore works, but it's possible this is the case there as well.

Our son also has an application in at Swarthmore for RD.

hmmmm interesting way of doing things. Seems like a recipe for losing stuff.
