Application Confirmation

Hey everyone,

Just had a really quick question. Does Princeton offer any sort of confirmation to let you know that your application (and it's supplementary parts) have been received, either through regular mail or e-mail (not including the confirmation for payment of the application fee)? Thanks in advanced. :)

they did for ED, so, yes, or rather, you got a first confirmation postcard, and then a second one if something was missing from your app

For ED, you only got a letter if something was missing. If nothing was, nothing was sent to you.

Cards are sent, but they are usually sent very late. It's good to call the admissions office to check and see if they have received your application.

You could also have sent it via mail with tracking and pickup confimation.

i got a postcard that said "applicaiton recieved". i never got a second confirmation...but to my understanding you only get that if youre missing something in your app (when its to late to do anything about it, unfortunately)

It wasn't too late to do anything about...I hope. I was missing a rec and my counselor faxed it, but most of the time, Princeton "finds" it before you even send a second copy of whatever you're missing. sigh when are they going to do this online?

I recieved one over the holiday break that said "Application Received" and another one shortly after that said "Application Complete." They should let you know if you're missing anything.

Gosh you mean that's no way we can check online? Then what do int'ls like myself do? Sit around for 2 weeks for the mail to arrive only to realised I blow my apps cos I was missing some stupid document?
I would have thought princeton adcoms were smarter than that!
Oh well..

Unfortunately, yes. There is an upside though, as acceptance letters are mailed via Fedex

They wouldn't be able to implement an online notification system if they tried. Have you taken a look at their webpage? I shudder each time I do.

lol haha, but since the period between app deadline and decision is longer for RD, you'll probably know before it's too late. In any case, you can always call them around March to check if your app is complete.
