Now I'm not referring to NYU, but generally speaking, if the deadline for a college is January 1, can you still send recommendations after that? Cus it's winter vacation and we don't return to school until the 3rd, I forgot a rec for 2 schools of mine, but I submitted the application and everything else already online and to the guidance counselor.

Would sending rec after the deadline be okay? Because I hear they allow a grace period.

You’d have to check with your actual college to be absolutely sure, but both of the colleges I applied to, as well as another three I was considering (gleaned from actual sit-down convo with the admissions officers), allowed a 2 week period to send in all supporting docs. One was 2 weeks after they had finished processing their pool of mail, another (NYU) was after the deadline. As far as I see it, your actual application is what really matters to file your intent to apply, the rest is somewhat less important filler.

Yes, but I’d allow at least 20 minutes for your connection/ the system to stall (you are definitely not going to be the only one hitting submit at that moment) and to fill out the application payment info (your app can’t be submitted without payment). And remember, it’s Eastern Time zone.
