I have finished my application on GateWay to Prep Schools, however my guidance councilor has still not posted the transcript! Do I hand in my application anyway and let him send it afterwards or wait for him to post to to turn in my application. Also how will this affect my admission chances to Hotchkiss and St. Pauls as it is now late?
You need to submit your application by the deadline. Don’t wait on the transcript submission, which is out of your control. But do contact your counselor and convey the urgency of the situation.
What will happen if I have that item missing?

Transcript is a key component of your application. Most likely they will hold off reading your application until they receive it. Some schools may send you a postcard telling you your application is incomplete.
My daughter’s transcripts were a bit behind of everything else. I have had 2 schools call, and 2 email of the 10 she applied to. That said, DD and I both tried hard to be on top of all of that until we were able to get it taken care of.
