There's something that's on my mind. The official deadline for apps is Nov. 1st. How does it work if a person sends before that? For example, if I wanted to send my application on say, Sept 1st, then would they evaluate it on Sept 1st, or do they have to wait until Nov 1st to begin reading them? If they do have to wait until November, then do they read the applications that came in early first, or do they read it in any order? Thanks.

They won’t start reading applications until a number of them have come in – if you send it very early, it won’t be read immediately. I think reading season officially starts around about a week after the deadline, when a number of folders are distributed to each reader. (See, e.g., [this blog entry](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/the_selection_process_application_reading_committee_and_decisions/the_reading_season_begins.shtml) by Matt, dated Nov 6.)

Applications start being given to the readers when they’re complete, and each application is read by several people. So if you send in your application early, it will probably be read first by one reader, but it will not be read first by all readers.
