If the application deadline is Jan. 1, does that mean it's due 1 second before Jan. 2? Or does it mean Dec. 31, 11:59 PM

Pretty sure that means it’s due 11:59 pm, January 1st, but I would also like to make sure.

I’m not sure for the january deadlines, but for the 31st deadline, its due one second before the first. like, 11.59PM ON the 31st. i figure the same for jan1 deadlines too? so one second before jan2?

xcross: if you’ve already googled Post Offices with late closing times, I can tell you’re in for trouble! LOL

If you’re an international, do you follow local or US time?

US. 10char.

Usually 11:59 PM of the day it’s due in the time zone of the school you are applying to.

^^^ woah is that right? I didn’t think about it for the first 2 schools I applied to because they’re in the same timezone as me. But if that’s true i need to take that into account haha.

what does the school think of a student who submitted right before the deadline?
will it affect their decision

I read somewhere that it is of no consequence whatsoever that one applies just before the deadline. However, you should not wait until the last hour, because of the possibility of a computer glitch or a power failure or some other problem.

We got some conflicting information is dis here thread. Anyone know for sure?

I’m fairly sure that, unless stated otherwise, a deadline of January 1 means that it must be either submitted online by 11:59 in the college’s time zone, or postmarked with a January 1 date.

11:59 pm on January 1st?

I second what amarkov said.

ouais

that means yeah :D

um… isnt it 11:59 on December 31st? that’s what my friend told me anyway

this is true if the deadline is December 31st.
