Application Decision Changed? Glitch or Not?

So today my dad and I got an email about applying to financial aid from CMU and how I would receive a decision by March. I paid no attention to it because I figured it was something they sent to everyone that had ever inquired about information because I had applied ED and was Rejected.

My dad however was interested in the fact that it talked about receiving an application decision while most mass emails would just talk about applying to financial aid not my application. So he had me check the application tracker and where it used to pop up my rejection letter it is now the same as it was before December 15 (when I received my decision).

Is this just a glitch? I don't understand that if I was rejected (and not deferred) why would they get rid of the decision letter shouldn't it just always have my rejection letter on the tracker, and the letter said nothing to suggest that I was deferred. Has this happen to anyone else? If you were rejected does your "Where am I now" account still have your letter? Or does every rejection change to considering again?

Sorry to say, but most likely an error. You got a mass mailing because your name was not taken of a mailing list. These mailing lists are different than the actual specific decision mailing lists. Never hurts to call and ask though, but seems like a simple “not off the mailing list yet.” I know a kid who withdrew an application and still received mail like an RD applicant for a month after he withdrew.

Yeah that’s what I figured. Doesn’t bother me though since I already thought I was rejected. Thanks :)
