application denied HELP

Hi everyone,

I’m freaking out now. Binghamton (one of my safety schools) just denied my application because they “don’t review incomplete applications”. Here’s why it’s incomplete: I applied through the Common App and requested a fee waiver. All nine other schools I applied to accepted it. Several weeks after I applied, I got a notice that they didn’t receive my fee waiver. I was puzzled because I did send it and all my other schools approved it. I emailed them back and forth and after a while, they said that they need a new counselor verified one. My counselor resubmitted it; they still didn’t accept it. She called them and they said I don’t qualify. So I called them and asked where to send my check - they said to send it to SUNY applicant service center, which I did this Friday. AFTER ALL THAT THEY DENY ME WHAT SHOULD I DO???

I would not describe Bing as a safety school. It’s the most selective school in the SUNY system, right? And if you are OOS, it’s not a safety at all.

@Lindagaf Yes; it wasn’t exactly a safety school but I did think I had a good chance. I do have another safety that’s easier to get into. I am instate, by the way, but I heard that they actually favor OOS applicants because they have higher tuition.

I suppose I’ll call them tomorrow but I’m just angry because of the effort I put into straightening it out.

Get over your anger and calmly work to resolve the situation. If you have a good guidance counselor perhaps ask him/her to get involved as well.
